Spend Mode
1. I am a new user activating Spend Mode on Swype. Is verification mandatory?
Yes. Verification is required to activate Spend Mode. The verification process is lightweight, does not require intrusive steps, and is designed to confirm that the user account is unique and eligible.
Once verified, you can freely choose and activate any supported vault and continue using Spend Mode
2. How is Spend Mode different from borrowing on Aave, Euler, or HypurrFi?
Spend Mode is an additional pathway alongside Borrow Mode. Instead of creating a loan, Spend Mode enables you to spend directly against your stablecoin deposits. Those deposits remain in yield-generating vaults, while you gain immediate liquidity and a configurable spending limit to use across merchants. Borrow Mode remains available for users who want leverage and credit flexibility, while Spend Mode provides debt-free access to credit.
3. Which assets are supported?
At launch, Spend Mode supports the following stablecoins:
USDT0 (Now Live)
USDe & USDhI (Coming SOON)
Each of these assets can be deposited into supported vaults and allocated for spending. Additional stablecoin support will be rolled out progressively.
4. How many vaults are available?
Swype supports 12 vaults at launch across the following protocols: Felix, Hyperbeat, Hyperlend, and HypurrFi. Each vault is fully yield-bearing and integrated with Spend Mode as a funding source. The list of supported vaults will continue to expand as Swype integrates with new protocols and assets.
5. How do spend limits work?
When you designate a vault on Swype, you can set a spend limit. This is the maximum amount available for spending through Spend Mode. The spend limit is always capped by your deposit size in the active vault. Importantly, the vault deposit itself remains untouched and continues to generate yield. This mechanism ensures you can control exposure while maintaining capital efficiency.
6. Can I activate multiple vaults simultaneously?
No. Only one vault can be active at a time as a funding source for Spend Mode. Users can deactivate a vault and switch to another funding vault at any time.
7. Where do I manage or close my vault?
Vaults remain fully under the control of your originating protocols. Swype only provides the spending interface. To deposit, withdraw, or close a vault, users must interact directly with Felix, Hyperbeat, Hyperlend, or HypurrFi. Swype reflects balances and enables spending but does not alter the underlying vault mechanics.
8. Who can access Spend Mode? Access is restricted by code until August 19, after which you can begin with a minimum $100 deposit in your preferred vault.
Once verification is complete, you can choose a supported vault, deposit stablecoins, set a spend limit, and begin using Spend Mode immediately.
